NUTRITION CHALLENGE

So far, in our nutrition challenges, we've focused on things to avoid. Avoid sugar(sorry cola drinkers), avoid grains(sorry pretty much everybody). This time I'm going to challenge you to include something. To paraphrase your grandmother:

Eat your freaking vegetables.

Today's challenge is to have a vegetable(or more than one) with every meal. I'm a big fan of eggs and broccoli for breakfast. Sounds weird, but it's really good. Have a huge salad with meat and avocado(or some other fat source) for lunch. Have some chicken(grilled or broiled) with olive oil and grilled veggies for dinner. These are only examples. Talk to your folks and figure out a plan.

Remember, we're going for high protein, high fat, low carbohydrate meals. Eat as much as you want, just avoid grains and sugar. Also, for now, no potatoes if you want to lose weight.

Post your meals to comments.

This video is a headful, so you might want to watch it several times.

  1. So, I eat vegetables with pretty much every meal evryday anyway, but the fact that I had to think about it today was making me go crazy!! anyway what I ate today:
Breakfast: NOTHING!!!! I woke up at 12 on accident :3
Lunch: turkey sandwhich with tomato and carrots on the side (I havent been able to cut all grains out yet but I did cut it in half by only using one slice of bread anytime I have a sandwhich)
    Snack: ALMONDS!!!! SO GOOD!!!! :D
Dinner: idk how seafood fits into the paleo diet, but my family wanted to go out tonight and I had no choice in my food because at the place you ordered the food in pounds instead of plates, but I had crab and shrimp and it came with corn and potatoes. I couldnt remeber if corn was a starch, I think it is, but im pretty sure its less than a potato so I had corn on the cob.
HOW DOES SEAFOOD WORK INTO A PALEO DIET???? -Laura

  2. Fish is awesome. It's high in protein and fat(especially salmon), which is great. Eat as much as you want. :)
